STS Group was awarded the prestigious BAPCO Refining Annual HSE Award in the Large Contractor category for the year 2023, outperforming around 60 qualified competitors. This accolade is bestowed on contractors, who consistently provide the highest levels of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance throughout the contract period.

 STS achieved this honour by overcoming a number of challenges, including the deployment of high percentage of short-service employees due to shutdown demands, working along with multiple contractors with varying safety cultures,  ensuring incident free T&I’s during peak summers, SIMOPS, working shutdowns in hazardous environments, performing hot work in confined spaces, working at height, working with energised equipment, handling hazardous chemicals/ toxic substances, and performing complex lifting operations.

 Despite these obstacles, STS maintained an exemplary HSE record, with no lost-time incidents from the start of the contract, demonstrating devotion and commitment to its HSE objectives.

 BAPCO Refining has expressed its utmost satisfaction with STS’s safety performance and commitment, acknowledging the company as a trendsetter within the industry.
