A centralized management system with qualified personnel manages the quality and HSE functions of the STS business. Regular internal audit, corrective action and management reviews at various levels monitor compliance throughout the business process and lead to a continually improving customer focused business.
“No job will be executed at the expense of Safety of our staff or Quality of our Service”.
A major component of STS capability is carried out at sites where plant and equipment are fabricated, installed and commissioned under our Quality Control Standards. Our site activities are carried out to International Standards – covering Occupational Health and HSE Management Systems. Major HSE/ Quality Milestones and Initiatives taken in 2008: - EMC (Engineering Maintenance Contract, C31/0505)- MAF area has completed 3 years without LTI on 5 Aug. 08 and a total of 8 years without LTI on 28 Dec. 08 including the period the workshop was operated under the Engineering Services Contract, C2K8066.
- Alkhuwair Workshop - completed 5 years without LTI (Lost Time Injury) on 17 October 2008
- Sohar Workshop - completed 1 year without LTI on 14 Jun 2008
- EMC Yibal and Fahud completed 2008 without LTI.
- Wellhead & Field Monitoring Equipment Support contract completed 2008 without LTI and has been LTI free since commencement in 2001.
- IVMS (Internal Vehicle Monitoring System) installed on 66 high risk vehicles with the objective of improving driver behavior.
- Seat belt convincer commissioned at site for emphasizing the importance of wearing seatbelts by putting employees through a rollover simulator.
- STS completed 10 ASME coded pressure vessels in 2008.
- 52 new Welding Procedures were established and qualified in 2008.
- 42 welders for Corrosion Resistant Alloys (CRA) like Alloy 625, Alloy 825, Alloy 6 Mo have been successfully qualified in 2008.
- STS Sohar Workshop approved by PDO for Pressure vessels, Skids, Piping spools and DSS pipe fabrication.
